Here is some useful information on how to get the most out of my online classes. I shall build it up over the coming weeks.
Firstly, I’m using an online video-conferencing tool called Zoom. I will send you a link to one of my classes once you’ve expressed interest/registered (just email me at email@example.com to register). Just click the link provided and when prompted sign-up and download/run the Zoom app to install if necessary (this is free and you’ll only have to do this once!).
To minimise disruption, please ensure you’ve done in plenty of time before joining the class.
You can use the same link again for each session of that particular timetabled class (i.e. if you’ve been sent a link for the 5:30pm Monday Yoga class, you can use that each week to join in).
When you’ve joined the meeting, to ensure Beth stays as the main focus on your screen:
- Click on my video – i.e. the image of me broadcasting to you! You will see me amongst the videos of other participants who have joined the meeting.
- Click … from the menu provided at the top of my video (the three dots!)
- Select Pin Video.
If you don’t do the above, and if you’re in Speaker View, anyone who speaks will become the main focus on your screen (so this isn’t ideal). You can use Gallery View but this means everyone has the same-sized square on your screen and thus my video will be quite small!

You can turn mute your microphone if you like, so no-one can hear any background noise you may have in your home. And you can turn off your video if you don’t want others to see you. This may be helpful if your internet access if a little slow or struggling with the streaming process.
